Merri-bek Incudes Brunswick, Brunswick East, Brunswick West, Coburg, Coburg North, Fawkner (part), Glenroy, Gowanbrae, Hadfield, Oak Park, Pascoe Vale, Pascoe Vale South
377 Victoria St, Brunswick
The brainchild of two couples — Jacqui Sacco, Tim Martin, Maggie and Deon Smit, the origins of Co-Conspirators Brewing Company started off as a hobby but quickly became an obsession.
Setting up a home of their own has featured heavily in their plotting and, at the start of 2020, the CoConspirators announced they were building a home in Brunswick. The 195-capacity brewpub is set to open on Victoria Street in 2021 with a focus on sustainability, collaborations and limited releases.
396 Lygon St, Brunswick East
Alchemy Brewing is a 16-tap brewery-bar, but it’s for more than just hop-hunters and lager-lovers. There’s also a modern wine list with a few hazy, minimal-interventions drops from Das Juice and Brave New Wine, and an amaro spritz on tap.
10A Russell Street, Brunswick
A microbrewery, bar and bottle shop in Brunswick producing quality beer infused with good vibes.
Inner North Brewing Company is a brewery in Melbourne’s Inner North, and if you make your way through the industrial backstreets of Brunswick you’ll be rewarded with some fresh, delicious beer. It’s the brainchild of Zack Skerrit, who you might know as one of the former owners and head brewers of Henry St Brewhouse in Kensington.
12/102 Henkel St, Brunswick
There’s something uniquely appealing about a brewery that brings together the traditions of the Czech Republic with contemporary Melbourne. Historically speaking, the former is the birthplace of pilsners and considered one of the most important beer cultures in the world.
While Melbourne doesn’t share the same long-established prominence, in more recent times it has become known as something of a leader in Australia’s craft beer industry.
Brunswick’s Foreigner Brewing Co, which first opened its doors late in 2016, manages to combine those two disparate brewing cultures. It’s the work of Mira Koman and Peter Denison, who originally hail from the Czech Republic and met through Melbourne’s expat Czech community.
122 Weston St, Brunswick East VIC
Premium craft beers brewed in the heart of Brunswick East.
Temple’s amazing beer is all brewed on site in their brewery. The team of experienced and skilled brewers work hard to ensure that you enjoy every mouthful of their tasty, delicious range of craft beers. It doesn’t get any fresher than that. The Brewhouse Bar ensures a warm, comfortable experience on any occasion and it’s also dog friendly!
130 Barkly St, Brunswick VIC
Thunder Road Brewhouse first started brewing great Aussie craft beer back in 2009. A fanatical bloody approach to quality which has seen the brewery awarded the Champion Medium Brewery Trophy back to back in 2014 and 2015 — not bad seeing they’re the only years they entered a comp!
More than just a brewery or bar, Thunder Road Brewhouse takes the art of Australian craft beer to the next level, and everyone is welcome.
The Thunder Road Brewhouse is located in the heart of Brunswick on Barkly Street, just a short walk from Melbourne’s iconic Lygon Street and public transport.
Sitting in the middle of a fully operational brewery, the bar serves a diverse range of tastiest and freshest beers Melbourne has to offer including very limited release development beers. There is always something fun, new and delicious to try at their Brewhouse.
Coburg (Not open to the public)
Danial and Jane Caneva come from generations of publicans, bringing your local pub to the people, enhancing the social fabric of the community. It was in the community, that Danial and Jane saw the evolution of the craft beer movement and growth in demand for local, artisan products. Combining their years of skill and experience in the industry, they were inspired to launch Coburg Brewing Co. in 2013.
Using only quality ingredients and no preservatives, our recipes are designed to craft a range of brews that celebrate the art of brewing and the culture of beer. Coburg Lager was the first of our distinctive brews released and lucky for us, everyone loved it. Our next release, Pentridge Pale Ale, continued to pay homage to our local roots in Coburg and was just as enthusiastically received by the community. Whether you’re sampling our brews from near or far, it’s our aim to give you that genuine local drinking experience.
